It was the first of the year and I couldn’t think of a better wedding to start the New Year. Nikita and Victor’s wedding and reception was held at the Dallas Palms in Carrollton, Texas and we had a blast!! It was our first time being able to witness and capture a Nigerian wedding. I’ve heard many great things about Nigerian weddings; but, being able to experience one was on a totally different level! This reception was filled with Nigerian music, traditions, food, clothing and most important the love and support from family and friends. I don’t think there was a moment where anyone was not dancing and having fun. The entire day it rained with chilly temperatures which somewhat hindered our plans for photos taken outside. We still were able to capture a few shots outside despite the weather conditions.
Nikita and Victor met over 10 years ago while attending a high school football game. They remained good friends for a while before they started dating. They dated for almost two years before Victor popped the big question; however, this wasn’t your typical proposal. Victor surprised Nikita with two tickets to Paris on Christmas Day. On January 1, 2014 Victor proposed in front of the Eiffel tower at the stroke of midnight. Nikita said yes! Later that day, they officially exchanged vows at a small Parisian Chapel. One year later they decided to have their official wedding. Thank you Nikita and Victor for trusting us with your special day. Best Wishes.
